Raise money for the Centre with Every Click

The Centre now has its own ClickNow search facility to help raise much-needed funds. This works just like any other search engine – you type key words into a search box to search the Web. However, the difference is that each time you use our charity search facility 50% of the profits will go towards preserving Second World War memories. There is no cost to the Centre or to you. It will only take two seconds to start using it - so why not use it as your preferred method of searching the Web today? The search facility is available at http://www.clicknow.org.uk/TSWWEC - if you would like to help us by making it your Home Page please follow the instructions below:

What to do for Internet Explorer

  • Go to http://www.clicknow.org.uk/TSWWEC
  • Go to ‘Tools’, click on ‘Internet Options’ and then the ‘General’ tab
  • Under the Home Page, click ‘Use current’ and apply, then ‘OK’

What to do for Firefox

  • Go to http://www.clicknow.org.uk/TSWWEC
  • Go to ‘Tools’, click on ‘Options…’ and then the ‘Main’ tab
  • Under the Home Page, click ‘Use current’ then ‘OK’

Please tell your friends. Every click will make a difference.

FAQs:

  • How is this money generated?
There are no costs to the user. Advertisers normally pay search providers depending on number/types of clicks - the Centre will receive 50% of the profits. Click Now receive the other 50%. The page has been produced by Click Now at no cost to us.
  • Can we help by replacing the search engine on our company internal intranet with the Centre’s search page for all employees to use?
Yes! It takes a few seconds for Click Now to e-mail your IT department with a coded link to automatically make this the company search page. Please e-mail: charles@clicknow.org.uk
  • I like my homepage to include news and weather updates as well as a search box – can you produce something similar using the Centre’s search page?
Yes, just make the following link as your homepage, instead of the one above: http://www.portal.clicknow.org.uk/TSWWEC. You can also switch between the two.

Fundraising ideas

We hope the following ideas may inspire you to raise funds to help the Centre:

  • Hold a coffee morning
  • Invite your friends and neighbours over for knitting or needle-work. Why not get sponsored to see how much you can knit in a set amount of time?
  • Choose a personal challenge such as giving up smoking and get family and friends to sponsor you

For the more adventurous…

  • Take part in a local walk, fun run or even a marathon and ask people to sponsor you (per mile or fixed donation)
  • Take part in an expedition of a life-time which could include a trek, mountain bike ride, mountain climb, white water rafting, sailing, or horse riding in exotic places such as Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, Europe, the Americas and the Middle East. Visit www. Charitychallenge.com, a company that specialise in these types of adventures. The sponsorship money raised will go directly to the Centre. They cover three different difficulty levels, ensuring there really is something for everyone.

Holding an event such as a coffee morning can provide much-needed funds for the Centre, or you could attend one of the Centre's own Fund-raising events - for more information on what is coming up please go to Events.
