The Centre is dependent on donations to continue its vital work preserving our wartime heritage. Your gift will help the charity to safeguard these memories for future generations, so they may understand the sacrifice of men and women who lived and served in this conflict and learn something of the values of that time.

Could you make a financial gift or become a Friend of the Centre?

The Centre is entirely dependent on donations to continue its work.

Think what your donation could do:

  • £30 supports the Centre to tape-record the memories of someone who lived through the Second World War.
  • £100 helps us to buy recording equipment for interviewing people about their wartime experiences.
  • £500 helps us to digitise the collection and develop examples of wartime experience for our website where they are more readily accessible to a wider audience.
  • £1,000 enables us to buy six months’ worth of archival envelopes, boxes, acid-free tissue paper and photographic storage sleeves to preserve material donated to our archive.
  • £3,000 supports us to produce educational packs for schools.

Can you help us preserve the experiences of those who lived during the Second World War?

  • Make a donation to help ensure our work continues.
  • Become a Friend of the Centre (£30 per year in the UK, £40 abroad) and receive our twice-yearly journal and invitations to our Lecture Series.
  • Become a Benefactor (£150 minimum donation) and receive our twice-yearly journal, a £5 discount on tickets for our Lecture Series and if your gift is more than £500 you also receive a gift as our thank you for your generosity.
  • Sign your company up as a Corporate Partner (tailored packages available) and receive up to 25 copies of our twice-yearly journal and a free half-page advertisement, five free tickets to our annual lecture series (on request), a certificate for display in your reception area, an annual invitation to visit the Centre.
  • If you would like to leave the Centre a gift in your Will; we can provide you with our Registered Charity Number and suggested wording, so your solicitor can make the necessary additions.

It has to be a good thing to preserve experience to help future generations understand what living through those years was like. Some school-children today do not even know who Winston Churchill was, so an archive which is dedicated to the war years deserves all our encouragement.
