Under the title ‘Experience The Home Front’ some 1600 records representing over 400 individuals or families will be available to search and browse. The catalogue represents the diversity of British civilian personal experiences of war, including government scientists, childhood recollections, evacuees, members of the Women’s Land Army, Air Raid Precautions Wardens and soldiers in the Home Guard. The A2A collection of Centre records is not a comprehensive listing of all British Home Front records in the Centre archive. Details of material deposited in the Royal Navy, Army or Royal Air Force sections will not appear. Also some material from the Home Front collection has not been published, in accordance with the wishes of the donors or for reasons of copyright or Data Protection. | |
